Contenidos

Sesión 1: (4 horas) Unit 1: Personal Information (I) Grammar: Verb to be (affirmative, negative); Vocabulary: Personal data vocabulary (age, gender, nationality, marital status, profession, etc…); Speaking: “Role Play: Let me introduce myself… The participants will introduce themselves giving details. Unit 2: Personal Information (II) Grammar: Verb to be (questions and short answers) and review of yes/no questions; Vocabulary: Personal data vocabulary (age, gender, nationality, marital status, profession, etc…); Speaking: “Role Play: Find someone who…” Participants use a checklist as they walk around the room trying to find a person who has a certain characteristic. Sesión 2: (4 horas) Unit 3: Describing people: appearance (I) Grammar: To be and physical appearance adjectives and to have got and physical characteristics; Vocabulary: Using adjectives to describe physical appearance; Speaking: “Role Play: I’ll describe myself. Participants will describe their physical appearances.” Unit 4: Describing people: appearance (II) Grammar: Present continuous and To wear and clothes; Vocabulary: Clothes and complements vocabulary; Speaking: “Role Play: Who is who? Or Swappy role-play” Participants use another person’s physical description and they will have to guess who is that person. Sesión 3: (4 horas) Unit 5: The City Grammar: Asking for and giving directions. There is/ are…Prepositions of place; Vocabulary: Places, buildings and other facilities in the city; Speaking: “Role Play: Excuse me, is there a hospital near hear?” Participants will practice in groups the urban map-reading and related prepositional phrases (e.g., next to, across the street from). Unit 6: Safety in the street Grammar: Imperatives and Orders; Must and Have to; Vocabulary: Traffic offences and crime related vocabulary; Speaking: “Role Play: What’s wrong with you?” Practice of different dialogues related to traffic offences and crime related vocabulary. Sesión 4: (4 horas) Unit 7: Lost Properties Office Grammar: Wh- questions (When, Where, How, What, Who, Why); Vocabulary: Personal objects; Speaking: “Role Play: Where did you lose your passport?” The participants will practice how to attend foreign people’s problems. Unit 8: On the phone Grammar: The past tense; Vocabulary: The time and expressions related to the time and dates; Speaking: “Role play: Good afternoon, how can I help?” The participants will ask and give different information on the phone.

Objetivos

Comprender y poder expresarse en situaciones rutinarias propias del desempeño de su trabajo (identificación, personal, información sobre localización de lugares, etc.). Comprender y poder abordar, tanto problemas específicos (accidente, agresión, robo, etc.) como cualquier atención a la ciudadanía. Ser capaces de comprender las preguntas sobre direcciones y dar respuestas en inglés. Comprender y reproducir el vocabulario relativo a lugares públicos, solicitar y comprender la descripción física y/o su indumentaria de una persona y también describirla, entender una conversación telefónica, preguntar y tomar datos personales, etc.

Requisitos

Pertenecer a alguno de los ayuntamientos adheridos al Plan Agrupado de Formación Continua 2012 de la Mancomunidad de Municipios de la Costa del Sol Occidental (Benahavís, Casares, Estepona, Fuengirola, Istán, Mijas y Torremolinos)
